Since the period of the green revolution, there have been various book length studies of agricultural development in Punjab. The state of Punjab and Haryana were a single state till 1966. After the reorganisation of these two states the politics and economy completely changed. Moreover, these two states became a model of agricultural development for other major Indian states. In literature there is no single study as such which compared the level of agricultural development of thes two states since the early green revolution period to the current time. In this book an attempt has been made along with how this process of agricultural development percolated to equitable growth among Scheduled Castes and marginal farmers. Comprehensive and rich in data, this book will be valuable to scholars and researchers who have an interest in issues of agricultural development.
