Samarendra Narayan Arya has had a brilliant academic career. A gold medalist in the M.A. (History and Sanskrit) from Patna University, he obtained his Ph.D. from the same university in 1997. He has published Histroy of Pilgrimage in Ancient India, AD 300-1200, Munsihram Manoharlal, Delhi 2004 and numerous research articles in different academic journals including Proceedings of Indian History Congress. He is a Professor of History at Magadh University.
