Aakar Books was established in 1991 in Delhi. Starting as a library supplier, bookseller and distributor, it progressed to publishing quality scholarly books in Social Sciences & Humanities in 2001 and has carved a niche for itself in this sphere. Today the subject sphere of Aakar Books comprises of History, Politics and International Affairs, Central Asian Studies, Economics, Classics, Sociology & Anthropology, Gender Studies, Religion & Philosophy, Literature & Culture, Art & Archaeology, Education, Environment, Media/Cinema, Reference, Science and Technology, and much more.
