Capt. Praveen Davaris an alumnus of the prestigious National Defence Academy, Khadakvasala and Indain Military Academy, Dehradun. He was commissioned in the Deccan Horse, a battle-hardened armoured regiment, on 14 Novemeber 1971 when India’s political and military leadership was poised to create a glorious history: the brilliant victory in the Bangladesh Liberation War. Davar resigned from the Army in 1980 and joined the Indian National Congress (INC) which he has been serving for over four decades in various capacities beginning with international youth activities. He was Secretary AICC and, later, Memebr of the National Commission for Minorities, and frequently writes for national newspapers and INC publications on topics of historical and contemporary importance.
