FROM JALLIANWALA BAGH TO NAMASTE TRUMP AND BEYOND
This book sweeps through India’s history from 1920s to the present and weaves together its epoch defining moments into an unfolding of a coherent narrative. Beyond sketching the trajectory of the freedom struggle and post-Independence developments, the essay presents musings triggered by the milestones chosen to mark our history – some of which offer a stunning contrast. He points to the forces at play, suggests a message for times to come and, more broadly, attempts to understand the communal-political strand of the past, present and the future of ‘Indian Polity’.
