Description

Infinity in a Nutshell… is a collection of reminiscences by 32 alumni of their days as students at the Central Institute of English & Foreign Languages (CIEFL), Hyderabad. These graduates of CIEFL pursued further studies and taught at some of the leading universities in India and abroad. The book is an easy read like jargon-free autobiographical texts, full of light and emotional anecdotes. The authors also recall methods and materials used by their teachers who had themselves been trained at some of the best universities in the world, and were authorities in their field of Applied Linguistics and Language Teaching. The book speaks also about classroom teaching, tests, assignments and seminars, campus life, and, underlying all this, about the constant pursuit of excellence that made CIEFL, while it lived, a world class university.

Sathuvalli Mohanraj has been a teacher educator attached to the English and Foreign Languages University, formerly known as CIEFL. He is a well-known materials producer and a teacher educator.

Shreesh Chaudhary, PhD (CIEFL), was a Professor of English and Linguistics at the Indian Institute of Technology, Madras. He has been interested in the structure, user and teaching of English in India.
