Kant’s ‘Prolegomena to Any Future Metaphysics’ is a reappraisal of his Critique of Pure Reason. The text has a cryptic character in that it does not offer us an easy route to understand and appreciate the fundamental philosophical arguments of Kant’s epistemology and metaphysics. This new edition contains a lucid, engaging, and reader-friendly introduction that guides the reader to creatively go through the labyrinth of this complex text while at the same time making herself aware of the larger framework of Kant’s work and its influence on modern western philosophy. It provides an intellectual background of the text, its historical context, explanation of its essential terminologies, and a discussion of the different conceptual apparatus of his philosophical system.

Bhaskarjit Neog teaches in the Centre of Philosophy, Jawaharlal Nehru University. Educated in Utrecht University, Linkoping University, Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur, and Gauhati University, Neog has been an Endeavour Research Fellow at the School of Philosophy, Australian National University and the Centre for Philosophy and Public Ethics, Charles Sturt University, Australia, and a scholar-in-residence at the Indian Institute of Management Calcutta. His primary research interests are social ontology, collective intentionality, normative ethics, and philosophy of religion.
