At the time of increasing globalization, the protection, conservation, interpretation and presentation of the heritage and cultural diversity of any place or region is an important challenge for people everywhere. Heritage management is a growing field that is concerned with the identification, protection, and stewardship of cultural heritage in the public interest. It is part of a burgeoning interest in heritage generally and the subject of increasing discussion, debate, and controversy among both the specialists and the public. This study deals with management of heritage, sustainable development, preservation and protection of monuments and present available facilities on sites. The present book is a collection of 10 case studies of toruism sights of Madhya Pradesh addressing a wide vista of issues related with the tourism development and its successful development and sustainable management. The book focuses on the following four questions: What is cultural heritage? For whom is it to be preserved? Why preserve it? and how do we preserve it? It provides critical insights into how theoretical concepts and frameworks are applied in tourism planning and policy making practice.
