The K.M. Ashraf Memorial Lecture 2013: Authority and Challenge

The History Society, Kirori Mal College, University of Delhi revived the K.M. Ashraf memorial lecture after a long gap of nearly four decades in 2012. Members of the History Society are pleased to present this book which includes the K.M. Ashraf Memorial Lecture delivered by Prof. Irfan Habib in 2013 on ‘Questioning within Religous Thoughts: The Experience of Islam’ and the first K.M. Ashraf Lecture delivered by Prof. Mohammad Habib in 1966 on ‘some Aspects of the Foundation of the Delhi Sultanate’. This publication also includes two other papers presented by Dr. Firdos Answar and Prof. Kumkum Roy during the seminar on ‘Authority and Challenge: Process and Social Formation in India’.
